TechString

The free application TechString puts several handy web tools at your disposal: pinger, website monitor, proxy checker, and more. All these tools are clearly presented in the application’s interface so that you can easily access them.

TechString has been tested on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. On these Windows editions it will work without any problems. If you’re on an older Windows edition and you want to use TechString, please note that it may not work properly. You should also note that TechString needs .NET Framework in order to work on your PC.

Seeing as there’s nothing complicated about it, you will immediately feel at home with the interface. The first thing you’ll see is the Welcome tab which features links to the website monitor, proxy checker, network scanner, and internet options. Then you will notice that tabs for all the functionality TechString has to offer are presented at the top. Browse through them, something that is very easy to do, and uncover what these tools can do.

The tools TechString has to offer are as follows:
Pinger – add an IP or website and ping it.
Website monitor – enter an IP or website address and the application will regularly check it.
Send Email – set up the parameters for sending out emails; send out emails.
Proxy checker – enter the HTTP proxies you want the application to test.
WhoIs Lookup – enter a URL and the application will look up info about it.
Network Scan – like the name says.
Browser Options – delete temp files, browsing history, cookies, favorites, and empty the cache. You are also invited to download Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and RockMelt.

As mentioned above, TechString is a free application.
